Police recovered 22,980 mobile phones lost or stolen in past three years under ‘Operation Muskan’

Patna: Mobile phone has become the part and parcel of today’s busy life and losing one’s mobile phone or getting it stolen means losing all his/her information, stored documents, memories etc.

Under “operation Muskan” drive, police are searching for such lost or stolen mobile phones and returning to their real owners. Under the drive, police have brought smiles to the faces of 22,980 people by returning them their lost phones.

Going by the figures of last three years, police have recovered 11,609 mobile phones between January and December 2023 and delivered the same to the actual owners. Similarly, 8,155 mobile phones were recovered in 2024 and delivered to the actual owners whereas 3,216 mobile phones have been recovered and handed over to the owners since January this year.

In total, police have recovered 22,980 mobile phones in the past three years and returned to their owners.

Considering the drive’s success, police headquarters have specially issued guidelines to all the districts and they have been asked to deal with the cases of mobile theft or loss seriously so that smiles can be brought back to people’s face.
