Polestar has unveiled the production-ready Polestar 5 at the Munich Motor Show, introducing its most ambitious model yet in the high-performance electric vehicle space.
Positioned as a direct rival to the Porsche Taycan, the four-door grand tourer will be offered in two variants.
2026 Polestar 5 Performance Specifications
The base version delivers 737 hp and 812 Nm of torque from its dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds. Range is claimed at up to 670 km on the WLTP cycle. The Performance model raises output to 872 hp and 1015 Nm, reducing acceleration to 3.2 seconds but lowering range to 565 km.
2026 Polestar 5 Battery And Range
Both variants draw power from a 112 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Charging from 10 to 80 percent takes around 22 minutes via a 350 kW DC fast charger, placing the Polestar 5 among the quicker-charging EVs currently available.
2026 Polestar 5 Exterior Highlights
The design closely follows the Precept concept first shown in 2020. Slim Pixel LED headlights, retractable door handles, frameless glass, and a coupe-like roofline underline its grand tourer proportions. Inside, the cabin is minimalist but technology-heavy, headlined by a 14.5-inch infotainment display running Polestar’s customised Android Automotive OS.
2026 Polestar 5 Interior Highlights
Polestar has partnered with Recaro for the front seats, which feature heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Rear passengers are accommodated in a four-seat layout, also benefitting from heated and ventilated seating and four-zone climate control.
2026 Polestar 5 Price And Rivals
Prices in the UK start at £89,500 (approx Rs 1.06 CR) for the standard model, while the Performance version commands £142,900 (approx 1.70 CR).
