PNS Ghazi: After 54 years, Pakistan got the submarine which was sunk by India… Pakistan Inducts New Pns Ghazi Submarine Built With Chinese Help

Pakistan has inducted new PNS Ghazi submarine after 54 years. India sank the original Ghazi in 1971. This Chinese-made submarine will be delivered in 2026 and is equipped with cruise missiles.

New Delhi: Pakistan Navy has included a submarine named PNS Ghazi in its fleet after 54 years. In the 1971 war, India had sunk Pakistan’s submarine PNS Ghazi near Visakhapatnam port. After the sinking of PNS Ghazi, Pakistan lost confidence in the war. After this, he announced surrender. By the way, Pakistan never accepted that India had sunk its submarine. According to Geo TV, Pakistan has now purchased the submarine which has been named Ghazi from China. The previous Ghazi submarine was purchased from America. Its wreck still exists near Visakhapatnam port.

According to the report, the submarine which Pakistan has named Ghazi is a Chinese Type 039A/039B submarine. This submarine has been built by China at Karachi port. Pakistan is considering this submarine as Made in Pakistan. In 2015, Pakistan had signed an agreement with China to buy this submarine. This submarine will be handed over to Pakistan in 2026. According to Naval Today, the weight of the new submarine PNS Ghazi is about 2800 tonnes. Its length is 77 meters. This submarine can accommodate 35 to 40 crew members.

What is the specialty of this submarine?

The speed of this submarine in the sea is 20 knots. PNS Ghazi can be deployed with underground launched cruise missiles. The special thing about this submarine is that it cannot be detected while moving in the sea. That means, when it goes out to sea for any operation, no one will even have a clue about it.

During the Bangladesh Liberation War, when INS Vikrant was attacking Pakistani military positions, Pakistan sent a submarine named PNS Ghazi into the Bay of Bengal to sink Vikrant. The submarine was taken to Sri Lanka before reaching the Bay of Bengal. At that time the news spread that INS Vikrant was in Visakhapatnam.

This is how PNS Ghazi sank

Actually, Vikrant was not in Visakhapatnam at that time. Indian military agencies had deliberately spread this news to mislead Pakistan. As soon as Pakistan received this news, PNS Ghazi was sent towards Visakhapatnam. Even before reaching Visakhapatnam, fuel started leaking inside the Ghazi. Despite the efforts of the crew members, the fuel leak could not be stopped. Here, the INS Rajput ship deployed at Visakhapatnam port attacked it. Shortly afterwards, a huge explosion occurred near Visakhapatnam port. This was the Ghazi submarine blast. Subsequently, PNS Ghazi was reduced to a wreck.
