- General Incentives: Center owner incentives increased from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, up to 15% on monthly purchases.
- Special Incentive: Additional Rs 2 lakh to North-East, Himalayan Region, Island Areas, Exceptional Districts or Women, Divyang, SC, ST entrepreneurs.
- Profit: Operating agency will get 20% of MRP (except taxes).
- Women’s Health: In 2019, Jan Aushadhi Suvidha oxo-biodegradable sanitary napkins were launched at Re 1 per pad, available in more than 10,000 centres.
Who can open Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Kendra?
- The individual applicant must have a D. Pharma or B. Pharma degree or must employ such qualified pharmacist.
- Organizations, NTOs or hospitals can also apply, provided they have qualified pharmacists.
How to apply for opening Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Kendra?
- To apply online, go to the official website janaushadhi.gov.in and click on Apply for Centre.
- Register now by entering personal details, mobile number and email.
- Login with the user ID and password received by email.
- Deposit the application fee of Rs 5,000.
- Fill the application form and upload documents (PDF or JPEG or PNG, up to 200 KB).
- After submitting the form, you will receive confirmation via email.

What documents are required to apply for PMBJP?
- Land or space for the center (minimum 120 sq ft), ownership or lease documents.
- Pharmacist’s certificate.
- Proof of financial capacity (Bank Statement, ITR).
- Sales License and Drug License.
- For special incentives: Aadhaar, PAN, SC, ST, Divyang Certificate, other necessary undertakings.
