UP PM Ujjwala Yojana 2025: Uttar Pradesh government announced to provide free gas cylinders to women under PM Ujjwala Yojana before Diwali. Know who is eligible, when will you get the cylinder and how will you get the benefit.
PM Ujjwala Yojana Free Cylinder: Diwali is just a few days away and the women of Uttar Pradesh are going to get a big gift from the government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that about 1.86 crore women of the state will get free gas cylinders under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Know the details, who will get the benefit of this scheme and when. Women who have not yet applied for PM Ujjwala Yojana, how and where to apply and what are the required documents.
When will you get the free cylinder?
The Uttar Pradesh government has decided that women will be given free cylinders twice a year. This facility is for those women who are already beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala Yojana.
- First phase: October 2025 to December 2025
- Second phase: January 2026 to March 2026
- In every phase, women will get a free cylinder of 14.2 kg cylinder with a deposit or subsidy.
Who will not get the benefit?
- Only those women can avail the benefits of this scheme who are beneficiaries of PM-Ujjwala scheme.
- Women who have not got their Aadhar card verified will not get this free cylinder.
- Through this scheme, the aim of the Uttar Pradesh government is to make it easier for women to cook and reduce their household expenses.
Who can apply for PM Ujjwala Yojana?
Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), only those women who are 18 years of age or above and whose families fall in the following categories can apply for LPG connection:
- SC, ST Families: Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families.
- Families covered under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural).
- Families of Most Backward Classes.
- Poor families covered under Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY).
- Families working in tea gardens.
- Forest dwellers and people living on islands, river islands.
- SECC Households and other economically weaker families.
- Keep in mind, there should not be any existing LPG connection in the family.

How to apply for LPG connection in PM Ujjwala Yojana?
Take the application form: You can download the form from the government website or get it from your nearest LPG distributor. Prepare necessary forms and documents. In which-
KYC Form: For identification and bank details.
Supplementary KYC and Undertaking: For additional information.
Annexure 1: Self declaration for migrant families.
Annexure 2: Pre-installation check before installing LPG connection.
Fill the form: Fill in your personal information, bank account details and name of preferred LPG distributor.
Attach necessary documents-
- Identity Card (Aadhaar or other valid ID)
- address proof
- Proof of poverty category (BPL card or other)
Submit Form: Give all the documents and filled form to your nearest LPG distributor.

- Ration card or any certificate issued by the state government
- Aadhar Card (for both identity and address)
- Bank account number and IFSC
