There has been a spurt in enrollment in the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana (PM-SYM) during the special campaign of 2026. Districts like Firozabad, Ghaziabad and Basti performed brilliantly, providing social security benefits to unorganized workers.
Lucknow. Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana (PM-SYM), which provides social security to workers in the unorganized sector in the state, is continuously seeing better results. This scheme is playing an important role in securing the future of workers by providing them facilities like pension in old age.
Special campaign 2026: Increase in enrollment and excellent performance of districts
Many districts did remarkable work during the special campaign run from 15 January to 15 March 2026. The objective of this campaign was to connect more and more workers to the scheme, in which the administration got great success. During this:
- Firozabad secured first position with 349 nominations.
- Ghaziabad (262) and Basti (238) also performed well.
- Apart from this, districts like Banda, Bareilly, Ambedkar Nagar, Hapur and Bijnor also took active participation.
The efforts of these districts made the campaign a massive success and set an example for other districts.
Financial year 2025-26: These districts remained on top
If we look at the performance for the entire financial year 2025-26, many districts have consistently done well:
- Hardoi stood first with 929 nominations.
- Azamgarh (597) and Ghaziabad (547) also performed brilliantly.
- Whereas districts like Pratapgarh, Basti, Ballia, Meerut and Varanasi also made significant contribution.
These districts are now being seen as model districts.
The pace of the scheme increased due to the efforts of Yogi government
The direct impact of this campaign run by the Yogi government was that the pace of enrollment increased in most of the districts. Improvement is now being seen even in the districts whose performance was low earlier. Due to continuous monitoring and special efforts at the administrative level, the scope of the scheme is increasing rapidly.
Unorganized workers are getting pension benefits
Due to the effective implementation of this scheme, a large number of unorganized workers are now getting social security like pension. Due to this, their future is becoming more secure and the standard of living is improving.
The reach of the scheme will increase further in future
Due to the joint efforts of the state government and the district administration, this scheme is getting strengthened at the grassroots level. More workers are likely to join this scheme in the coming time, which will further broaden the scope of social security.
