First journey after Pahalgam attack
The India-China relations had more sour in 2020 when the Galwan Valley clashed. In 2019, PM Modi visited China. Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping had a last meeting during the BRICS Summit in Kazan in October 2024, after which efforts to reduce tension between the two countries intensified. However, after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, when India carried out Operation vermilion, China was completely seen standing with Pakistan. China showed solidarity with him by arming Pakistan with state -of -the -art weapons. Now once again, efforts to reduce tension between India and China have intensified. It is an initiative in this episode to attend PM Modi’s Shanghai conference.
Modi’s Putin and Jinping will meet
During the summit, PM Modi is also expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping. This meeting is taking place at a time when US President Donald Trump has imposed heavy tariffs on India to buy crude oil from Russia. However, in the last meeting of SCO Defense Ministers, India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh refused to sign a joint statement as it mentioned Balochistan but did not mention the Pahalgam attack, killing 26 people.
