PM Modi urges nationwide participation in Census 2027 in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in the 133rd episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, April 26. Modi urged citizens to actively participate in the Census 2027, calling it an important campaign for the nation.

Modi urged people to provide accurate details to officials and introduced a facility where citizens can enter their information themselves, with the option available 15 days before enumerators’ visits.

After processing the data on their own, people will receive a special ID on their mobile or email, which they can show to the enumerators to verify their details, the Prime Minister confirmed.

“National census isn’t just a government task. It’s the responsibility of all of us. Your participation is crucial. The information you provide is completely secure, kept confidential. Let’s make Census 2027 a success,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi highlights Lord Buddha’s teachings

Modi once again pointed out to the world to follow Lord Buddha’s teachings amid the continuing global tensions. He said Buddha’s ideals are needed for the present and for the future also.

Later, the Prime Minister extended his greeting of the upcoming Buddha Purnima to the people and underscored an organisation in Chile, South America, which is promoting Lord Buddha’s teachings as it helps people connect with nature.

“Lord Buddha has taught us that peace begins within us; he has conveyed to us that victory over oneself is the greatest victory. Amid the tensions and conflicts the world is going through today, Buddha’s teachings have become very important,” he added.

Modi heaped praise on the nuclear scientists of our nation as they brought glory to the country by taking the civil nuclear programme to another level.

The PM highlighted the fast breeder reactor at Kalpakkam in Tamil Nadu and congratulated them for their efforts, calling it a historic milestone.
