New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a series of youth-focused initiatives worth more than Rs 62,000 crore on October 4 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, aimed at boosting education, skilling, and entrepreneurship across the country. The event will also mark the fourth edition of the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh, where 46 All India ITI toppers will be felicitated.

A key highlight will be the launch of PM-SETU (Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs), a centrally sponsored scheme involving Rs 60,000 crore investment for upgrading 1,000 government ITIs nationwide under a hub-and-spoke model. With support from the World Bank and ADB, the project will integrate industry-led management, innovation centres, and placement services.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate 1,200 vocational skill labs in Navodaya Vidyalayas and Eklavya Model Schools across 34 states and UTs, providing training in high-demand sectors like IT, electronics, logistics, and agriculture.

Special emphasis will be on Bihar, where Modi will launch a revamped Mukhyamantri Nishchay Svyam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana, offering Rs 1,000 monthly allowance for two years to nearly five lakh graduates annually, alongside free skill training. He will also inaugurate the Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur Skill University and lay foundation stones for new facilities in four universities under the PM-USHA scheme.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Bihta campus of NIT Patna, distribute 4,000 appointment letters, and release Rs 450 crore in scholarships to 25 lakh students.

These initiatives are expected to empower youth through integrated skilling, education, and entrepreneurship, positioning Bihar as a hub for skilled manpower.
