PM modi manipur visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Manipur on Saturday. After 12 noon, he left for Churachandpur by road from Imphal Airport. He was first to go to Churachandpur by helicopter, but decided to go by road later due to heavy rains. The PM laid the foundation of several development projects worth Rs 7300 crore in Churachandpur and Imphal. On this occasion, the PM said- I can never forget this moment of life. Manipur has a gem, this is the gem, which is going to increase the brightness of the entire North East in the coming time. Modi further said- I bow my head to Manipur. I salute the spirit here. The government’s every effort is to take the state forward in development work.
PM Modi’s first visit after ethnic violence in Kuki-Mitei
Let us know that this is PM Modi’s first visit to Manipur after erupting ethnic violence between Maetai and Cookie community in Manipur in May 2023. After the violence erupted in Manipur, the opposition was constantly taking sarcasm at Modi. Explain that Manipur, with a population of 38 lakhs, has a population of Maetai community 53%, while 40% of people from the cookie community live.

These districts of Manipur had the most violence
More than 260 people were killed while more than 1500 were injured due to erupting ethnic violence in the Kuki-Metai community. Due to this violence, more than 70 thousand people had to leave their homes and go to another place. During the violence, 400 churches and more than 130 temples in Manipur were attacked. Most of the violence took place in Churachandpur, Vishnupur, Imphal West, Imphal East and Tengunpal districts.
