Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Harivansh Narayan Singh on Wednesday praised PM Modi’s leadership, describing him as a “visionary” who has successfully translated ideas into action.
In a landmark milestone for Indian democracy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially become the longest-continuously serving elected Prime Minister of India. Completing 4,399 consecutive days in office today, PM Modi surpassed the record of 4,398 days held by the country’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, for continuous service following the first general elections.
Speaking to ANI, the historic achievement has drawn widespread acclaim from across the political spectrum, with the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman, Harivansh Narayan Singh, hailing the Prime Minister as a “visionary” whose tenure has redefined governance in India.
“Since independence, he is perhaps the first politician and a visionary who didn’t just dream but actually implemented those dreams, bringing them to reality on the ground,” Singh remarked. He further noted the global recognition of the Prime Minister’s tireless work ethic, stating, “The world is amazed to see him working 24/7 for the country. He is perhaps the first politician in a democratic system to sustain such popularity for such a long period”, he said.
“Whether it is the rule mandating 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies, implementing real-time digital payments, taking bold steps like the rollout of GST to build a better future for the country, or addressing issues like Article 370, the government has acted decisively”, he said.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar on Wednesday celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s achievement of becoming India’s longest continuously serving Prime Minister, a significant milestone in Indian political history.
Highlighting the historic nature of the occasion, Majumdar emphasised the impact of the Prime Minister’s leadership on the nation’s trajectory.
“There is a special day in the political history of India,” Majumdar stated. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set the record for the longest tenure as India’s Prime Minister.” .
Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and Union Ministers on Wednesday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming India’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister, describing the milestone as a historic moment for Indian democracy and crediting his leadership for the country’s development, welfare initiatives, and rising global stature.
Meanwhile, Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra called the occasion historic and said India had continued to move forward despite global challenges under Modi’s leadership. He asserted that the past 12 years of governance had been marked by development and clean administration, and expressed hope that the Prime Minister would continue leading the country towards the goals of Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat by 2047.
