BCCI’s big push to promote cricket in the Northeast
The initiative is part of BCCI’s push to boost and encourage the Northeast’s involvement and participation in the national cricket ecosystem. The all-weather facilities will address the requirement for year-round training infrastructure in even the most remote of regions.
Beyond this initiative, the BCCI is also planning to build more stadiums, including another in Sikkim, following the incorporation of these states in the national domestic cricket structure.
The academies have been made ready just two years after the foundation stones were laid in 2024.
BCCI’s big cricket push will help bridge the gap in cricket infrastructure in the North East and the rest of the states, and will give a golden opportunity to emerging talents to showcase their talent and skills in India’s cricketing ecosystem.
