Keeping in mind the concerns of citizens, he said that this conflict may be challenging for India’s energy security and economic stability, but the country’s foundation is strong.

The Prime Minister said that India needs to remain alert during this crisis. He urged all state governments and central agencies to unite as ‘Team India’. Hoarding and black marketing elements may become active at such times, hence strict monitoring and prompt action is necessary. The PM also informed that seven new empowered groups have been formed, which will deal with the crises related to supply chain, petrol, diesel, gas, fertilizer and inflation.

Prime Minister Modi said more than 3,75,000 Indians have returned safely to India since the conflict began, including over 1,000 Iranian nationals and over 700 medical students. He also assured that those who were injured were being provided the best treatment.

PM Modi told that earlier India used to get 1.3 million barrels of crude oil daily from the Strait of Hormuz. The ongoing conflict and missile attacks in the Middle East have disrupted tanker movements, sending Brent crude prices to their highest level in four years. However, the Prime Minister assured that there will be no interruption in the supply of petrol, diesel and gas and household prices will be kept under control.

The Prime Minister said that even during the Covid-19 pandemic, India faced challenges unitedly. He appealed to the political parties and the government not to allow elements spreading rumors to succeed at this time.
