

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: This is really a golden opportunity for the farmers of Odisha! The government led by the Chief Minister of the state Mr. Mohan Charan Majhi has taken a big step for the welfare of the farmers and transferred a huge assistance of Rs 697 crore directly to the accounts of about 35 lakh farmers. This financial assistance has been issued under the country’s much awaited Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, which is an important step towards ensuring economic security and prosperity of farmers. Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi himself became a witness to this historic moment. He participated in a grand state level PM Kisan Samman Nidhi program organized by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment. On this occasion, he handed over the 20th installment of the PM Kisan aid amount to the working farmers of the state, which brought a sense of happiness and satisfaction on his face. This installment is being directly transported to farmers’ bank accounts, which has eliminated the role of middlemen and ensured transparency and efficiency in the entire process. Part of the nationwide initiative, 34.85 lakh farmer benefits in Odisha was not limited to Odisha only, but it was part of a major campaign being run by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Modi distributed PM farmer installments worth about Rs 20,500 crore to 9.7 crore farmers from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh simultaneously. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi attended a special event held at Bhakrianup-Seefa ICAR-CIFA in Bhubaneswar. During this program, Chief Minister Majhi distributed assistance for the welfare of more than 34 lakh 85 thousand farmers of the state. A total of Rs 697 crore was released to each eligible beneficiary at the rate of Rs 2,000. Addressing the people and farmers of the state on this occasion, the Chief Minister said, “Our government has implemented many welfare schemes for you in the last just one year, and all of you farmer brothers are taking direct advantage of this. Direct financial assistance of Rs 10,000 in the number: Mission to double the income of farmers, Mission to double the income of the Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is committed to increasing the income of farmers.” Currently, more than 50 lakh farmers in the state are getting direct financial assistance of Rs 4,000 per year under ‘Mukhyamantri Kisan Yojana’. When it is linked to the installment of PM Kisan Yojana, our farmer brothers are getting financial assistance of Rs 10,000 per year, including both schemes. This dual benefit is playing an important role in the economic upliftment of farmers, which aims to double their income. This 20th installment of ‘PM Kisan Yojana’ is being released for the period from April to July 2025. The most special aspect of this scheme is that all types of farmers, whether they are small, medium or big, are all getting equally. Not only this, now this scheme has also been expanded to urban farmers. ‘PM Kisan Day’ was organized, the increasing message of awareness was celebrated as PM Farmers Day across the country. This day was also enthusiastically organized in all the districts, blocks and panchayats of Odisha, whose main objective is to include all eligible farmers in the PM Kisan Yojana and make them aware of the benefits of the scheme. Promotion of organic farming, on the new revolution in agriculture, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Dev also recorded an important achievement for the state. He said that Odisha has been awarded the Agriculture Today Award, which is a proof of excellent works being done in the agriculture sector of the state. The Deputy Chief Minister said that this amount of Rs 697 crore issued to 34,85,881 farmers will help farmers to buy seeds and fertilizers. Singhdev emphasized that the main goal of the state government is to double the income of farmers. He also said that along with earning income, it is also necessary to pay attention to health, and in this direction there is a dire need to promote ‘organic farming’ Organic Farming. Organic farming not only improves soil health, but it also makes our food safe and nutritious, which is extremely important for a permanent agricultural future.
