PM Kisan Yojana: There is great news for the farmers. Under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan Yojana), now one can get not Rs 6,000 but Rs 9,000 every year. Yes, in the coming days, the annual assistance amount of lakhs of farmers can be increased by Rs 3,000. This announcement has been made in the resolution letter issued by NDA (JDU-BJP alliance) in Bihar. Now the question is when will this increase be implemented? What is the new announcement for farmers?
Till now, farmers get financial assistance of Rs 6,000 in three installments in a year under PM Kisan Yojana. Every 4 months an amount of Rs 2,000 goes directly into their bank account. But now the Bihar government has said that farmers will be given an additional top-up of Rs 3,000 under ‘Karpoori Thakur Samman Nidhi Yojana’. That means, farmers who are taking benefit of PM Kisan can now get Rs 9,000 annually. Of this, Rs 6,000 will be received from the Center and Rs 3,000 will be provided from the state. About 73 lakh farmers of Bihar will get its direct benefit.
When will you get the benefit?
Now this has been promised before the assembly elections in Bihar. If NDA wins the assembly elections and its government is formed, then this scheme can be implemented from the new financial year i.e. 2025-26. Meaning, if everything remains on schedule, then Rs 9,000 will start coming into the farmers’ accounts annually from next year.
Will farmers’ money increase in other states also?
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said, ‘The farmers of the state are the backbone of the country. He will get an additional Rs 3,000 annually from the state’s Samman Nidhi along with the Centre’s PM Kisan Yojana. Experts say that if this model is successful in Bihar, then other states can increase the amount of assistance to farmers in a similar manner.
