PM Kisan: Farmer ID is mandatory in these states, otherwise you will not get the next installment

There is important news for the farmers waiting for the next i.e. 23rd installment of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Under this scheme, farmers are given Rs 6,000 every year in three installments. Recently the 22nd installment was released, now everyone’s eyes are on the 23rd installment.

Government’s new rule implemented

The government has now made it mandatory to make Farmer ID in some states. If you do not get this ID made, then Rs 2,000 of your next installment may get stuck. This has been made completely mandatory for new farmers, while old beneficiaries will also have to complete the registration as soon as possible.

Making Farmer ID is mandatory for farmers of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. Without registration, the benefit of the scheme will not be available in these states.

When will the 23rd installment come?

PM Kisan installments are released every four months. The 21st installment came in November 2025 and the 22nd in March 2026. In such a situation, it is expected that the 23rd installment may be released by June or July 2026, although change in the date is possible.

What is Farmer ID and why is it important?

Farmer ID is a unique digital identity, in which the farmer’s land, crop, income and other information is recorded. Its objective is to provide the benefits of the scheme to the right farmers and to stop fraud. This makes it easier to avail the benefits of subsidies, insurance and other schemes.

How to make Farmer ID?

Farmers can register online by visiting their state’s agriculture portal or AgriStack platform. For this, Aadhar card, mobile number linked to it and land documents will be necessary. After registration, e-KYC will have to be completed.
