PM Kisan: E-KYC will not work, it is necessary to make this ‘special ID’, otherwise you will not get Rs 2000!

PM Kisan Yojana

PM Kisan: For crores of farmers across the country, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is not just a government scheme but a ray of hope. Rs 6,000 received in a year becomes a big support for small farmers. Till now most of the farmers thought that if they got their e-KYC done and the land papers are linked, then there would be no hindrance in getting the money. But, if you too are sitting relaxed thinking this, then be a little cautious. There has been a big change in the rules and if it is not taken care of then the next installment may get stuck. According to media reports, the government has now made ‘Farmer ID’ mandatory along with e-KYC.

Understand what ‘Farmer ID’ is

Media reports are saying that just updating KYC will not be enough. The government has decided to prepare a digital database of farmers through ‘AgriStack’. That means if you do not have a Farmer ID, the system can exclude you from the list of the next installment. The aim of the government is very clear that the middlemen should be removed and the installment of Rs 2,000 should reach the accounts of those who are really working hard in the fields.

What is special in ‘Farmer ID’?

‘Farmer ID’ can be considered as the ‘digital horoscope’ of the farmer. Just as Aadhaar card reveals your identity, similarly this ID will reveal the entire history of your farming. This unique ID will not contain only your name or address. It will be recorded how much land you have, what crops you grow on it, what kind of fertilizer you apply and whether you also do animal husbandry. That means, the government will know with one click which farmer is growing what. This will also help in solving the shortage of fertilizers and seeds and other problems in the future.

It is very easy to make ‘Farmer ID’

You do not need to worry about this new system. The government knows that not every farmer is a master of the internet, hence both online and offline avenues have been opened for this. If you know a little about using a mobile, then you can register yourself by visiting the website of ‘AgriStack’ sitting at home. There you will have to do e-KYC through Aadhaar and fill your farming information. Land papers may have to be scanned and uploaded.

Apart from this, special camps are being organized for this in different areas of the country. You go there and show your Aadhaar and land papers, the officials will verify your details on the spot and your unique farmer ID will be created.
