PM Kisan 20th Installment: PM Modi to release Rs 20,500 crore to 9.7 crore farmers on August 2

PM Kisan 20th Installment Latest Update: The central government is all set to release the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme next month. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will directly transfer over Rs 20,500 crore to the bank accounts of more than 9.7 crore eligible farmers across the country during his visit to Varanasi on August 2.

According to official sources, Uttar Pradesh alone will receive Rs 4,600 crore from this latest distribution, benefiting around 2.3 crore farmers of the state. In Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of the Prime Minister, 2.21 lakh farmers will receive a cumulative amount of about Rs 48 crore. So far, farmers of Varanasi have received more than Rs 850 crore through the last 19 installments under the PM-Kisan scheme.

Launched in 2019, the scheme provides Rs 6,000 per year to all eligible landholding farmer families in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each. The amount is deposited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries to ensure transparency and efficiency. According to Joint Director of Agriculture Shailendra Kumar, the scheme remains a key pillar of the government’s commitment to improve the lives of farmers and strengthen the rural economy.

Prime Minister Modi’s programme also includes a public rally at Banoli village under Sewapuri block, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 52 development projects worth Rs 2,183.45 crore. The Prime Minister is expected to land at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport at around 10:30 am, where he will be received by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other senior leaders.

The visit underlines the government’s continued focus on empowering the farming community and boosting infrastructure in key constituencies ahead of the upcoming political milestones.
