CM Yogi Adityanath distributed Rs 285 crore to 2.51 lakh farmers under PM Crop Insurance Scheme and Rs 175 crore to 3500 families under Farmer Accident Scheme. The government has set a target of providing insurance of Rs 5 lakh to Aapda Mitras and relief to farmers within 24 hours.
Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday distributed compensation amount of Rs 285 crore to 2.51 lakh farmers under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme (Kharif-2025). Along with this, financial assistance of Rs 175 crore was given to 3500 beneficiary families under the Chief Minister Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme.
During the program, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the Deputy Agriculture Director’s office and soil testing laboratories in Baghpat, Shamli, Kasganj and Bhadohi. The foundation stone of a 50-bed hostel building at the Government Land Conservation Center in Mauranipur, Jhansi and the Smart Agriculture Bureau studio unit in Lucknow were also laid.
While wishing Holi, the Chief Minister said that the double engine government stands strongly with the farmers and the prosperity of the state will be ensured through improved farming.
Money directly into farmers’ accounts after Budget 2026-27
CM Yogi said that recently the budget 2026-27 of Uttar Pradesh government has been passed. With the inspiration of the Prime Minister, many schemes have been approved for youth, women, farmers and the poor. He said that now Rs 460 crore is reaching the bank accounts of farmers directly at the press of a button. With this, the role of middlemen has been completely eliminated. The benefits of the schemes are being given directly to the beneficiaries in all the districts of the state.
Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme: 2.51 lakh farmers got support
The Chief Minister said that crops were damaged due to drought and excessive rainfall. Under the crop insurance scheme, compensation of Rs 285 crore has been given to 2.51 lakh farmer families. He said that by getting crop insurance, farmers get financial security in case of disaster and it is possible to compensate for the loss.
Chief Minister Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme: Assistance up to Rs 5 lakh
CM Yogi said that earlier only the farmer was covered under this scheme, but now his family members, co-farmers and sharecroppers are also included. The government is operating the scheme with an amount of more than Rs 1000 crore. In case of death due to accident, an assistance of Rs 5 lakh is given. Today 3500 affected families have benefited from this. Earlier on June 16, 2025, Rs 561.86 crore was distributed to 11,690 farmers and dependents. The Chief Minister directed all the District Magistrates that under any circumstances the amount should reach the accounts of the beneficiaries by the next day.
Aapda Mitra Yojana: Rs 5 lakh insurance cover for three years
The Chief Minister said that Aapda Mitras play the role of first responder in disaster management. 29,772 youth volunteers have been trained in 25 districts, including members of NCC, NSS, NYKS and Bharat Scouts and Guides. These volunteers have been given seven days training, emergency responder kit, ID cards and certificates. The kit includes life jacket, search torch, first aid box and 15 other essential items. The state government has decided to provide three years of life and medical insurance to these trained youth. On February 10, an MOU was signed with the National Insurance Company, under which each Aapda Mitra will get an insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh.
Target to give relief amount in 24 hours
The Chief Minister said that earlier after the disaster, the victims did not get compensation for years. Now the government is trying to send money to the accounts of the victims within 24 hours of a disaster like flood, lightning or fire. Rs 876 crore has been allocated in the State Disaster Response Fund in the year 2025-26. Rs 260 crore has been distributed to 5,14,322 farmers affected by crop damage, Rs 216 crore to 5398 loss of life victims and Rs 24 crore to 27,448 house loss affected.
Installation of Doppler Weather Radar and Automatic Weather Station.
CM Yogi said that Doppler weather radars will be installed in Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Jhansi and Azamgarh. This will make accurate weather forecast and lightning warning possible. The process of installing 450 automatic weather stations and 2000 automatic rain gauges at the block level in the state has almost been completed.
Priority for disaster friends in home guard recruitment
The Chief Minister said that Aapda Mitras will be given priority in the recruitment of 45 thousand Home Guards in the state. At present this service is voluntary, but on becoming a home guard, they will get honorarium. 19 thousand Aapda Mitras have been trained in the state. Apart from this, a two-year disaster management internship program is also being conducted for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
