UP Railway Luggage Policy: North Central Railway has implemented a new rule for passengers. Now, more goods will be charged on more than the fixed limit. Weight and size will be checked with electronic machines at major stations of Prayagraj division.
Train Luggage rules: Railway is now going to make a big change in the rules for carrying goods for passengers. Like aircraft travel, now additional fare will have to be paid for carrying more goods than the limit in the train. Its purpose is not only to ensure the convenience and safety of the passengers, but also to make the journey more systematic.
Where will this system start?
Prayagraj Mandal of North Central Railway has decided to start this initiative with major stations. The stations on which this system will be implemented include Prayagraj Junction, Prayagraj Chhiwki, Subedarganj, Kanpur Central, Mirzapur, Tundla, Aligarh Junction, Govindpuri and Etawah. Electronic luggage machines will be installed at these stations. Through this, the weight of the goods of the passengers will be measured and if found more than the limit, additional charge or fine will be charged.

If someone’s luggage is very large despite being lower than the prescribed weight and surrounds more space, he will still be fined. This fine will be higher than the normal rate.
How many kilos can be carried?
According to the convenience of passengers, luggage limit has been set for different coaches:
- First AC: 70 kg
- Second AC: 50 kg
- Third AC: 40 kg

- General and Second Siting: 35 kg
If a passenger wants to carry more luggage than the fixed limit, he can pay additional charge during advance booking.
