Yes, there is insurance for passengers traveling in private jets also, but this is not decided by the government rule but depends on the terms of the policy. Typically the owner or operator of a private jet carries a comprehensive aviation insurance. This includes cover for the aircraft (hull), crew and passengers. The cover for the passengers’ portion is called ‘Passenger Liability Insurance’. Under this policy, compensation is given to the family in case of death, permanent injury or serious loss in an accident.
