A plane made an emergency landing on a major highway in Florida on Monday and then collided with a car traveling ahead. The accident occurred on Interstate 95, a major north-south highway on the East Coast. Thousands of vehicles run on this highway every day.
The plane, which made an emergency landing on the highway, had a 27-year-old pilot from Orlando and a 27-year-old passenger. The plane, named Beechcraft 55, suddenly landed on the busy southbound lane at around 5:45 pm and collided with a car going ahead. Three people suffered minor injuries in this incident. The car that hit the plane was a 2023 Toyota Camry, driven by a woman. He was immediately taken out of the car and admitted to Viera Hospital for treatment.
This entire scene was captured in the dashcam of another car driving just behind that car, which was being driven by James Coffey and his son Peters. It can be seen in the video that the plane moved forward after colliding with the car and sparks started coming out from it. The car trapped under the plane stopped there, while the plane fell on the side of the road. It is fortunate that no one suffered any major loss in this incident.

Later, Jax Towing was called to remove the plane from the highway. The company said that this is the first time that they have removed the plane from a highway. According to the report, there was no fuel leakage from the jet, due to which a major accident was averted. Although the exact reason for the emergency landing is not yet known, the towing company believes that perhaps the plane had run out of fuel. The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the incident, the New York Post reports. Florida Highway Patrol will also investigate this accident on the highway.
