In the 55th match of the 12th season of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), Telugu Titans performed brilliantly and defeated Patna Pirates 37-28. Captain Vijay Malik and all -rounder Bharat played a key role in this exciting match played at SDAT Multi Purpose Indore Stadium on Tuesday. With this victory, Telugu Titans registered a third consecutive win and reached the third position in the points table with 12 points in 11 matches. On the other hand, Patna Pirates faced the seventh defeat in nine matches.
Telugu Titans win a strong victory
In the victory of Telugu Titans, captain Vijay Malik played the role of Star Raider by scoring 13 points, while Bharat contributed eight and Ankit contributed four points. For Patna, Ayan alone performed strongly with 13 points, but the weak performance of his team’s defense and other raids caused the defeat. At the beginning of the match, Telugu Titans adopted an aggressive strategy. Vijay Malik gathered four points in the first ten minutes to give his team an edge. But due to the nine points of Ayan, Pirates were ahead 16-15 in the first half.
In the second half, the Telugu Titans changed the strategy and gained an edge by super tackle to Ayan. By the 25th minute, both teams were at 20-20 equal, but after that Telugu made a 24-20 lead in the 30th minute on the basis of Bharat and his defense. In the 32nd minute, Telugu all out of Patna and took the score to 29-21. The defense of Patna was completely shattered, and Telugu had taken a strong 10 point lead by the 35th minute. Due to which the final score was 37-28.
Puneri Paltan also won
In the second match of the day, Pune Paltan won a stunning victory by defeating Bengal Warriors 49-44. In this exciting match, Punei’s star raider Aditya Shinde demolished Bengal with 18 points. Bengal captain Devank Dalal played a 25 -point shrill innings, which was the best performance of any raider this season, but his team lost by five points. Puneeri defeated Bengal for the second consecutive time this season.
Aditya Shinde contributed 18 points, Pankaj Mohit 10 points and captain Aslam Inamdar contributed seven points for Puneri Paltan. On the other hand, apart from Devank for Bengal, Himanshu Narwal added seven points. With this victory, Pune Paltan won the seventh win in 10 matches and retained second place in the points table with 14 points. At the same time, Bengal Warriors had to face the sixth defeat in nine matches and they are in 10th place.
