The Telugu Titans emerged victorious against the Bengaluru Bulls with a narrow 38-35 win in the PKL 2024 on Saturday (November 2).
Captain Pawan Sehrawat’s impressive 14 points, along with Ajit Pawar’s High 5, were crucial for the home team’s success.
Despite a valiant effort from the Bengaluru Bulls, who nearly staged an incredible comeback at the GMCB Indoor Stadium, the Titans held firm.
Telugu Titans vs Bengaluru Bulls
In the first half, Pawan Sehrawat’s exceptional performance helped the Telugu Titans establish a significant lead. His Super Raid led to the first ALL OUT in the 11th minute. Ashish Narwal added another Super Raid, giving the home team an early advantage. The Bengaluru Bulls managed three Super Tackles, but still trailed 23-12 at halftime.
The second half saw Ajinkya Pawar and Nitin Rawal spearheading Bengaluru Bulls’ fightback. Nitin completed his High 5 and executed an ALL OUT on the Titans in one move. Ajinkya Pawar also found his rhythm, scoring crucial points for his team. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t bridge the gap entirely.
Pawan Sehrawat continued his stellar form for the Telugu Titans by achieving a Super 10. However, Ajinkya’s raiding prowess kept the pressure on as Pankaj’s Super Raid resulted in another ALL OUT for the home team. The deficit was reduced to five points, but it wasn’t enough for a complete turnaround.
UP Yoddhas vs Patna Pirates
In another thrilling encounter, UP Yoddhas’ captain Surender Gill and Gagan Gowda gave their team an early lead against Patna Pirates. Their defensive unit also shone brightly, resulting in an ALL OUT on Patna Pirates within seven minutes. At this stage, UP Yoddhas seemed to be in control of the match.
Devank and Ayan led Patna Pirates’ charge as they started mounting a comeback midway through the first half. With five minutes left in this period, Patna Pirates inflicted an ALL OUT on UP Yoddhas to level scores at 15-15. By halftime, Patna Pirates had taken a slender lead of 23-19.
The second half began with Patna Pirates maintaining their momentum while Bharat and Hitesh kept UP Yoddhas within reach of their opponents. Devank completed another Super 10 during this phase before executing an ALL OUT on UP Yoddhas again.
Despite UP Yoddhas’ efforts through Surender Gill and others working well together throughout this period; it was ultimately not enough as Patna Pirates consolidated their lead further towards victory – marking their third win of the season.
