Piyush Goyal discussed increasing competition with steel and engineering sector leaders

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]Mumbai (Maharashtra) [भारत],� (ANI): Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held a high -level meeting with major steel producers in Mumbai on Saturday. The main objective of the meeting was to discuss major areas such as adopting advanced technology, lowering logistics costs, promoting iron ore production and increasing the competition of MSMEs to strengthen India’s position in global value chains.

Goyal said in the X post, “Mumbai had a meaningful conversation with major steel producers. Adopted advanced technology, lowering costs, increasing iron ore production and making our MSMEs more competitive, focused on ideas such as expanding India’s role in global value chains. A flexible and ready -made steel is a cooperative roadmap for the creation of a flexible and future.” Steel is a regulation-free field and the government works as a facilitator by creating a favorable policy environment for the development of the steel sector. The government has taken several steps to improve the safety of raw materials, increase research and development activities, reduce dependence on imports and reduce production costs to achieve India’s goal of becoming self -sufficient in steel production and help MSME, small steel producers.

He also interacted with the leaders of the engineering goods sector and described him as “Champion of Purpose, Performance and Progress”. Goyal emphasized the government’s commitment to build a strong steel industry and to convert India into a global engineering center under self -sufficient India and Make in India initiative. He said in a separate post, “Interaction with the leaders of the engineering goods sector who are champions of precision, performance and progress in our country. We are all creating an ecosystem that strengthens self -reliant India and promotes Make in India for the world. The government is committed to pursue India fast towards making India a global engineering center!”
