New Delhi: Google is getting ready to roll out its biggest hardware showcase of the year. The company has officially set August 20 as the date for its next “Made by Google” event, where it will unveil the Pixel 10 series and the Pixel Watch 4. The event will take place in New York City and will be streamed live on Google’s official channels, including YouTube.
The timing is important. Google is hoping to grab attention before Apple’s iPhone launch in September and just after Samsung’s new Galaxy foldables hit the market. This year, the event is expected to focus not just on hardware upgrades, but on deeper integration with Gemini AI.
Google Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL: Familiar looks, upgraded insides
Leaked specs suggest that Google is sticking to a tried-and-tested design. The Pixel 10 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch screen, while the larger Pixel 10 Pro XL stretches to 6.8 inches. Both phones are set to run on the new Tensor G5 chip, manufactured by TSMC instead of Samsung, promising better power efficiency and thermal performance.
RAM is getting bumped to 16GB, and storage will go all the way up to 1TB. Interestingly, the Pro XL might skip the 128GB variant completely, much like the top-end iPhones. Battery life is also getting an upgrade. The Pro will pack a 4,870mAh unit, while the XL will go up to 5,200mAh. Charging speeds will be faster too, with support for up to 39W wired and 15W wireless charging.
Camera changes will be subtle. The main sensor setup remains unchanged, but the telephoto lens is getting tweaked for better light capture. Most of the magic, as usual, is expected to come from Google’s AI smarts.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Slight changes, better battery
Google’s foldable line continues to evolve. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will have a slightly larger 6.4-inch outer display, thinner bezels, and a new hinge design. The display brightness is getting a boost as well, topping out at 3,000 nits.
The biggest improvement lies in battery life. The phone is said to feature a 5,015mAh battery, up from the 4,700mAh pack in the previous model. Charging is also getting faster, moving from 21W to 23W wired and from 8W to 15W wireless. The foldable will come with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Pixel Watch 4: New sizes, same chip
On the smartwatch side, the Pixel Watch 4 will be available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, both with Wi-Fi and LTE options. Google is keeping the same Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip, so performance improvements are likely to be minimal.
Battery capacity is getting a small jump. The 41mm version will house a 327mAh battery, while the 45mm model will get a 459mAh cell. Faster charging is expected, though exact numbers are still under wraps.
Expected pricing: Premium all the way
According to European leaks, pricing is expected to mirror last year’s Pixel 9 series. The Pixel 10 will start at 899 euros (approx. ₹73,500), the Pixel 10 Pro at 1,099 euros (₹89,800), and the Pixel 10 Pro XL at 1,299 euros (₹1,06,100). The foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold could start at 1,899 euros (₹1,55,800).
Indian pricing hasn’t been officially confirmed, but the series is expected to stay in the premium segment. The Fold may launch later in India or not at all.
