Pitru Paksha Special Train 2025 Timing: The occasion of Pitrupaksha 2025 (7 to 21 September) has special significance in Hinduism, when devotees wish their ancestors salvation through Shraddha and Pindadan. This time West Central Railway has announced a direct special train service from Bhopal (Rani Kamalapati) to Gaya, so that devotees can take advantage of this holy journey without any hassle. The train will have 22 coaches, including 4 general, 13 sleepers, 2 AC-3 and 1 AC-2 coaches.
What is the main objective of special train?
The main objective of this special train is to provide easy and convenient journey to the devotees of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The train route will stop at several major stations including Bhopal, Vidisha, Sagar, Damoh, Katni, Satna, Prayagraj Chivki, Mirzapur, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction. Through this train, devotees can perform Pindadan, Tarpan and other Shraddha rituals on the banks of the Vishnupad temple of Gaya and Falgu River.

Special train schedule and facilities
- Bhopal → Gaya (Train 01661): On 7, 12 and 17 September at 1:20 pm, Rani will depart from Kamalapati, reach Gaya at 9:30 am the next day.
- Gaya → Bhopal (Train 01662): Leave from Gaya at 2:15 pm on 10, 15 and 20 September, reach Bhopal at 10:45 am the next day.
- AC, Sleeper in the train And general coaches are available, which passengers can book from IRCTC or Reservation Centers as per their convenience.

The train will pass through many important stations including Bhopal, Vidisha, Ganjbasoda, Sagar, Damoh, Katni, Satna, Prayagraj Chivaki, Mirzapur, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, Bhabhua Road, Sasaram, Dehri, Dehri, Dehri-On-Son and Anugra Narayan Road. Importance of Pitrupaksha and Pindadan in Gaya
Gaya is called Moksha Sthali in Hinduism. During Pitrupaksha, by performing pindadan here, the soul of the ancestors attains salvation and they go towards heaven. According to mythology, Lord Rama and Mother Sita also performed the pindadan of their father Dasharatha at this place. By doing pindadan here, the ancestors of 108 generations and the maternal side of 22 generations are liberated. This journey is very important for devotees from spiritual and religious terms.
