Where should the ancestor be photographed
According to Vastu, pictures of ancestors should not be placed anywhere. It is considered inauspicious to keep them with the gods or in their place of worship. The south, south-west and west directions are considered suitable for the worship and remembrance of the ancestors. However, they should not be placed in east, north and north-east corners.
Do not put a picture of ancestors at these places in the house
Pictures of the ancestors should not be placed in the worship room, the wall of the puja room, the bedroom, near the stairs, the kitchen and the Brahmasthan (middle) of the house. Keeping them at these places can cause unrest, discord and loss of respect in the family. The ideal place to install the picture is the hall or the main meeting room, where it can be placed on the wall of the south-west or west direction.
Proper time and rules of shraddha and tarpan
When there is Shraddha Tithi in the house, Shraddha, Tarpan and other rituals should be performed between sunrise from 12:24 pm. By doing this, the ancestors are pleased and blessed. While performing Shraddha Bhoj, special care should be taken that the Brahmins sit facing south direction.

Pictures of ancestors should never be placed with photographs of living individuals, as it has a negative effect and affects the longevity and enthusiasm of the living person. To prevent the picture from moving, it should be tired on wood or any solid basis. Also, there should be no spider webs or dust on the picture. Avoid keeping the picture in a place where it appears again and again, because it can create a feeling of despair.
