Panchami shradh 2025: Pitru Paksha is considered to be of special importance in Hinduism and this time is best for the grace of ancestors. During this period of 15 days, Shraddha, Tarpan and Pindadan gives peace to the souls of the ancestors and they get satisfaction. Pitru Paksha started from 7 September, which will conclude on 21 September. Today, on September 11, the fifth Shraddha of Pitra Paksha will be performed. The fifth date of Shraddha Paksha is considered very special. This date is called Kunwara Panchami and on this date there is a law of Shraddha of those ancestors, which have been unmarried.

According to the Panchang, the Shraddha of Panchami in 2025 is on Thursday, September 11. This day is the fifth date of Pitru Paksha and Maha Bharani Nakshatra will also remain on this day. Shraddha performed in Bharani Nakshatra is considered special fruitful, hence it will also be called Mahabharani Shraddha.

  2. Panchami Tithi ends – 12 September at 9:58 am.
  3. Kutup Muhurta – 12:10 pm to 1 pm.
  4. Rauhin Muhurta – 1 pm to 1:49 pm.
  5. Call – 1:49 pm to 4:17 pm.

When and how is the Shraddha of Panchami Tithi done?

Panchami Shraddha is also called Kunwara Panchami. During Pitra Paksha, Panchami is done on the date and it is for the ancestors who have died on Panchami Tithi or being unmarried. To perform Panchami Shraddha, in the auspicious time, black sesame is offered by mixing black sesame, Brahmins are fed and Brahmins are given clothes and Dakshina.

Why is Panchami Shraddha important?

For unmarried ancestors:- This is mainly for the ancestors who have died before they get married.

Date special:- The ancestors who died on Panchami Tithi during Pitra Paksha are also shraadh on this date.

Peace of soul:- By performing Panchami Shraddha, the soul of the ancestors gets peace and they ensure peaceful journey in the hereafter.

Reciprocity

1. Preparation:- Before bathing, wear clean clothes after bathing and paste the holy place of the house with cow dung and purify it with Ganga water.

2. Food and Invitation:- Then prepare satvic food for the ancestors and invite Brahmins for food.

3. Tarpan:- In the presence of qualified Brahmins, the ancestors should be given a tarpan by mixing black sesame in water.

4. Food and Donation:- Provide food with respect to the Brahmins and later take the blessings of Brahmins by giving them clothes, sweets and Dakshina according to their ability.

5. Other creatures:- Apart from fathers, crows, cows, dogs and ant should also feed food.
