Pitru Paksha 7th Day Shradh 2025: Pitra Paksha has a special religious and spiritual significance in Hinduism. In Pitrupaksha, it is very important to pay off the ancestors and to do shraddha of ancestors. By performing Shraddha Karma, the soul of the ancestors brings peace and their blessings always remain on their family and people.
In the year 2025, Pitrupaksha has started from 7 September. Pitrupaksha will run till 21 September. The last Shraddha of Pitrupaksha will be held on 21 September on the day of Sarvapitra Amavasya.
Today is a special day. Today the seventh Shraddha of Pitrupaksha is being kept. Saptami Shraddha is performed on the seventh day of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. During this time, Shraddha of those ancestors is performed on the seventh date of Shukla Paksha or Krishna Paksha of any month.
Pitru Paksha Shraddha is Parvana Shraddha. To fulfill these Shraddhas, Kutup, Rauhin etc. Muhurta are considered auspicious time. Till the end of the afternoon, rituals related to Shraddha should be completed. After performing Shraddha, it is finally offered.
Shraddha Pujan Muhurta
Saptami Shraddha will be performed on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
Qutup Muhurta – It will be from 11.52 am to 12.42 pm.
Its total duration – 50 minutes will remain.
Rauhin Muhurta – It will be from 12.42 pm to 01:11 pm.
Its total duration- 50 minutes will remain.
The afternoon period – will be from 01:31 minutes to 04 pm.
The total duration of which will be 02 hours 29 minutes.
Pujan Vidhi of Pitrupaksha Shraddha (Pujan Vidhi)
- Shraddha karma should be performed by expressing devotion, respect and respect for the whole mind and your fathers.
- On this day, get up early in the morning and take a bath and wear light colored clothes.
- Clean the place of worship by spraying Ganga water and lighting the lamp.
- Lay clean clothes at a checkpoint and apply tilak in the name of ancestors on it.
- Sit facing south direction (this direction is of fathers).
- Turn the ancestors with black sesame, barley, kusha and water.
- Chant the mantra ‘Om Pitrabhya: Namah’.
- Prepare a body (body donation) made of rice, milk, and sesame and offer them to the ancestors.
- Offer water, sesame, and flowers while chanting the names and gotra of the ancestors.
