Pratipada shradh: Pitra Paksha has special significance in Hinduism. This year, Pitra Paksha started on Sunday, September 7 in 2025. September 8 is a special day on Monday, today is Pratipada Shraddha i.e. the first date of Shraddha. This day is done for the late family members who died on Pratipada Tithi. Those who die on the Pratipada date of the Shukla Paksha or Krishna Paksha of any month are performed on the first day. Pratipada Shraddha is also called Padwa Shraddha.
What is the importance of Pratipada Shraddha
Pratipada Shraddha Tithi is also considered suitable for performing Shraddha of Nana-Nani. If there is no person who performs Shraddha in the maternal side and the death anniversary is not known, then by performing Shraddha on this date, the soul of maternal grandparents is pleased. Shraddha and Pinddaan of their ancestors are performed during Pitru Paksha. By doing this, the soul of the ancestors brings peace. What not to do on the ancestral side?
