What are the tasks for the ancestral side?
Tamasic food like garlic and onion should not be consumed in the ancestral side.
Meat and alcohol should not be consumed during Pitru Paksha.
One should not buy new clothes, gold, silver or other valuables on the ancestral side.
Home, shop or office should not enter home, shop or office in Pitru Paksha.
A new house or new vehicle should not be purchased during Pitru Paksha.
Hair, beard and nails should not be cut during Pitru Paksha.
Manglik work should not be done in Pitru Paksha like marriage, engagement or shaving.
Iron or wooden utensils should not be used during the ancestral side.
Things that bring negativity during Pitru Paksha should not be kept in the house.
During Pitru Paksha, new things like TV or new machine etc. should not be purchased.
Buying new clothes and new jewelery in Pitru Paksha is also not considered auspicious.
Oil, soap, perfume etc. should not be used on the body in Shraddha Paksha.
Other religious works like yajna, havan etc. should not be performed during Shraddha.
