From Congress to Communist, then RJD and BJP
In the first assembly elections in 1951, Siyaram Singh of Congress became the first MLA of Pirpainti. The Congress dominated the initial years and won three times till 1962. But since 1967, the CPI’s Ambika Prasad was established here. He became an MLA a total of six times, which is still a record. In 1980, Congress’s Dalip Kumar Sinha made a comeback and won twice in a row. Ambika Prasad dominated the communist face again in the 1990s. The RJD round started in Pirpainti from 2000. Shobhakant Mandal became an MLA for three consecutive times and RJD made his strong hold here. In 2010, BJP’s Aman Kumar overturned and won the BJP for the first time in the region. RJD returned in 2015, but in 2020 BJP’s Lalan Paswan won the NDA by winning by more than 27,000 votes.
JDU Factor
The mathematics of the last three elections is even more interesting. BJP candidates won when the JDU-BJP alliance was held in 2010. In 2015, when JDU-RJD formed a grand alliance, RJD won. In 2020, the JDU-BJP returned to the NDA and the BJP won the seat. That is, the equation is clear with which the JDU will be, the victory will go to his bag.
Ethnic equation and vote bank
The polling pattern of Pirpainti is completely resting on ethnic equations. Muslims and Yadavs play a decisive role here. But Rajput, Bhumihar, Brahmin, Koyri, Kurmi, Ravidas and Paswan also have the power to spoil the vote. This is the reason that every party here adopts a special strategy in ticket distribution.
Major issues – promises incomplete, development incomplete
Although power changed in Pirpainti, the issues remain the same. People’s hope of employment from NTPC is incomplete. Construction of Chaukhadi and Babupur Bridge has been hanging for years. The stoppage of trains at Pirpati railway station is still an incomplete dream. Announcements of setting up food processing plants are limited to paper. Middlemen are dominated between farmers and laborers, due to which the locals are very upset. The trend of voters shows that in 2025 also these old questions will be in their minds.
2025 war
This time BJP and RJD will face face to face in the election battle. The special thing is that Prashant Kishore’s party Jansuraj is also active in the field. If their candidate is empowered, this seat will witness the triangular contest this time. If the BJP’s Lalan Paswan reappears in the election field, RJD will prepare to challenge him. At the same time, the entry of Jansuraj may change.
