A new video of Tejas crash at Dubai Airshow 2025 has surfaced. In this, pilot Namansh Sayal was seen trying to escape by parachute at the last moment, but failed due to low altitude. This is the first fatal accident involving Tejas aircraft.
New Delhi: A very clear video of the Tejas fighter jet that crashed at the Dubai Airshow 2025 has now surfaced. It is clearly visible in this video what the pilot tried to do in the last moments. WL Aviation Videos has posted this clip on YouTube. This video has revealed that pilot Namansh Sayal had tried to get out of the plane through parachute at the very last moments. But, when the jet hit the ground, they had neither time left nor were they at high enough altitude.
During the Dubai Airshow, the aircraft collided with the ground and crashed while performing aerobatics at low altitude. As soon as it hit the ground, a big ball of fire was formed. In several videos, huge amounts of black smoke was seen rising from the crash site. IAF pilot, Wing Commander Namansh Sayal of Himachal Pradesh was killed in this incident.
last moments of jet crash
The new video has captured the last moments of the jet’s crash. In this video clip, at a timestamp of 49-52 seconds, that is, a few milliseconds before the jet hits the ground and becomes a ball of fire, a parachute-like object is visible. This has also been recorded in the video. According to this, the pilot tried to get out of the fighter jet, but by then it was too late. It is likely that this happened because the pilot tried to save and regain control of the aircraft, which has an almost impeccable safety record.
This is the first fatality involving Tejas, India’s first indigenous light combat aircraft, and the second such crash in its 10 years of service. But, this is the first time that a pilot has died. In March last year, a Tejas plane crashed near Jaisalmer. However, at that time the pilots managed to get out safely.
