On this issue, Sanjay Nishad, Cabinet Minister of Fisheries Department in the State Government, has made a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and demanded that he rise above politics and answer. Minister Sanjay Nishad clearly said that this matter is not related to any party or caste, but is a serious matter related to the future of the youth and the coming generation.

Referring to the death of children due to cough syrup containing codeine in Tamil Nadu, the Cabinet Minister said that Akhilesh Yadav’s silence on this issue also raises many questions. He bluntly said that this issue is not about political allegations and counter-allegations, but is related to the future of the society and the country, hence there should be no politics on this.

Yogi government is working on zero tolerance policy

Sanjay Nishad said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government is taking strict action against illegal drugs and organized drug mafias under the zero tolerance policy. He claimed that no matter how powerful the mafia is or what level of political patronage it receives, no one will be spared from the law.

Case in 33 districts, 75 arrested, lakhs of bottles seized

While sharing the figures of the action, the Minister said that till now cases related to codeine cough syrup have been registered in 33 districts of the state. On the basis of evidence, 75 accused have been arrested. Apart from this, more than 12,65,455 bottles of banned cough syrup have been seized and legal action has been taken against 132 firms.

Crackdown on main conspirators

He said that decisive action has been taken against 15 main conspirators associated with this network, while lookout circulars have been issued against 12 main accused. This process is continuing against other suspects also. The entire supply chain is being thoroughly investigated under the NDPS Act.

The law is being implemented on the ground, not on paper.

Sanjay Nishad said that in the Yogi government, the law is not limited to files only, but is being strictly implemented on the ground. He reiterated that those who dream of making Uttar Pradesh a drug market will be brought to book. This is a promise made by the government to the public and the government stands firmly on this promise.
