Avilay Jha and Kannan Sethu held their nerve in the final to clinch the 40+ Open Men’s Doubles title at the Picklebay Zonals – South, an Indian Pickleball Association (IPA)-sanctioned PWR 1000 event, in Bengaluru.
The pair defeated Himanshu Diwaskar and Rohan Dsouza 15-10 in the title clash to secure the championship.
Avilay and Kannan had earlier produced a commanding performance in the semifinal, beating Sachin Jain and Kiran Salian 15-5 to book their place in the final.
Himanshu and Rohan also made a strong push for the title, overcoming Vishal Choudhary and Madhan Jothi 15-9 in the other last-four encounter.
The final was a closely contested affair, but Avilay and Kannan stayed composed through the decisive moments. Their 15-10 victory capped a strong campaign and earned the duo the 40+ Men’s Doubles crown at the Bengaluru event.
