- Start of Dwitiya Tithi: 18 February 2026, from 4:57 pm.
- End of Dwitiya Tithi: 19 February 2026, at 3:58 pm.
- According to Udaya Tithi: Phulera Dooj will be celebrated on 19 February 2026.
Why is the auspicious time for marriage not observed on this day?
In Hindu religion, the movement of planets and constellations is observed for any auspicious work, especially marriage. But the day of Phulera Dooj has been kept in the category of Abujha Muhurta. These are the main reasons behind this.
Guilt free day: It is believed that on this day the position of the Moon and the Sun is such that the entire day remains free from all types of defects.
Blessings of Shri Krishna: According to mythology, on this day Lord Shri Krishna started the tradition of playing Holi with flowers. With his blessings this day became so sacred that there is no need for any special time in it.
Wedding season: If the planets are not matching in the horoscope of a couple or no auspicious date is found for the marriage, then the marriage can be solemnized without thinking on the day of Phulera Dooj.

The most beautiful tradition of this day is seen in Braj region (Mathura, Vrindavan).
- Adornment with flowers: Lord Shri Krishna and Radha Rani are lavishly adorned with flowers in temples.
- Holi of flowers: Instead of colors, people throw flower petals at each other. It is called Holi with flowers.
- Offering of dishes: On this day, especially Malpua and Kheer are offered in homes and temples.
Point of importance: Phulera Dooj is also considered to mark the end of winter season and arrival of spring. This is the reason why nature also remains in bloom on this day.
