In a bizarre case blending family feud and law enforcement, Surat police raided a hotel room after receiving a tip-off from a man about his daughter-in-law allegedly hosting an illegal liquor party. The incident unfolded on Sunday, August 3, at the ‘Weekend Address’ hotel, where Gujarat Police acted on the lead despite the state’s strict prohibition laws.
The raid, carried out by Dumas Police, resulted in the arrest of four men and two women, all aged between 23 and 25. “The tip-off came from a man who informed the control room that his daughter-in-law was partying with friends on Friendship Day in room 443,” a police official said. The group was celebrating when officers entered and seized liquor bottles from the room.
According to The Times of India, the two women arrested are artists, while the men are reportedly businessmen. All six were found intoxicated, and a half-consumed bottle of alcohol along with glasses was recovered from the room. Blood tests conducted at the civil hospital later confirmed the presence of alcohol in all of them.
