Lucknow/Patna. It is often seen that when any big festival comes, especially Holi-Diwali or Raksha Vandhan, reservation in trains is not available many days in advance. All the trains become full. The situation is such that there is no place to put one’s feet. But keeping in mind the increasing crowd of passengers from UP-Bihar, Indian Railways has announced to run 18 special trains. Besides, the complete schedule of their arrival has also been released.
Railway’s biggest gift to the people of UP Bihar
Actually, this is the biggest gift of the festival given by the Railways to the passengers going to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. According to the Railways, these 18 special trains will run between February 22 and March 30, 2026. Running of these Holi special trains will facilitate passengers in getting confirmed tickets. They will be able to go to their homes comfortably.

While talking to the media, CPRO of East Central Railway Saraswati Chandra said that the Railways has announced this decision in view of the crowd and to ensure that passengers do not face any problem in traveling during Holi. So that the journey of the passengers can be smooth. At present, Indian Railways will operate 9 pairs i.e. 18 Holi special trains. He said that passengers can see the list and complete schedule of special trains on the official websites of Railways.
1. New Delhi, Gorakhpur Special (04022/04021) – It will run from New Delhi at 2:00 pm on 20 February, 27 February and 6 March. The return journey from Gorakhpur will start at 7:00 am the next day.
2. Varanasi, New Delhi (04209/04210) – Departure from Varanasi daily at 10:30 pm from 24th February. The return journey from New Delhi will run daily at 7:25 pm.
3. Ayodhya Cantt, Anand Vihar (04213/04214) – This train leaves Ayodhya at 6:20 pm on scheduled dates. Passing through Lucknow at 8:45 pm, it will reach Anand Vihar the next day.
4. Lucknow, New Delhi (04203/04204) – Will depart from Lucknow on 23rd February and 2nd March at 8:05 am for New Delhi. The return will be from New Delhi at 8:20 pm.
5. Chandigarh, Gorakhpur (04514/04513) – It will depart from Chandigarh at 11:35 pm on February 26 and March 5, while the return journey from Gorakhpur will take place on February 27 and March 6.
Special trains for Bihar on Holi
1. Train No. 09031/09032 Udhna-Hassanpur Road-Udhna Special –Udhna-Hassanpur Road Special will depart from Udhna at 11.25 hrs on every Sunday from 22nd February to 29th March, 2026 and will run at 10.30 hrs DDU, 14.15 hrs the next day.
2. Train No. 07005/07006 Charlapalli-Raxaul-Charlapalli Special- This train Charlapalli- Raxaul special will depart from Charlapalli at 22.00 hrs on 23rd and 28th February and March 01, 2026, stopping at Dhanbad at 03.50 hrs, Barauni at 10.50 hrs, Darbhanga at 13.33 hrs and will reach Raxaul at 16.50 hrs on the third day.
3. Train No. 09451/09452 Gandhidham-Bhagalpur-Gandhidham Special – Gandhidham-Bhagalpur-Gandhidham Special Train Gandhidham-Bhagalpur Special will run every Friday from March 06 to March 27.
