PCB appoint Sarfaraz Ahmed as head coach ahead of Bangladesh Tests

New Delhi: Former Pakistan player Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed as the head coach of the senior men’s Test side for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh. The rumours about Sarfaraz’s appointment had been spreading from the last week but it was officially announced on Saturday.

This decision comes ahead of the Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh next month. Meanwhile apart from Sarfaraz’s appointment, former Test players Asad Shafiq and Umar Gul have been named batting and bowling coaches respectively to bolster the side.

Shan Masood to lead

Meanwhile, Shan Masood will continue to lead the Test side in the series, which is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle. The squad also features four uncapped players in Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori.
