Patna: On the entry of Bhojpuri’s Powerstar Pawan Singh in BJP, Tej Pratap Yadav said in a taunt, “Pawan Singh is continuously falling on someone’s leg. Sometimes we fall on our feet in Lucknow, now on someone else’s feet. Tej Pratap’s sarcasm was clear that the artist should be shined in his art, there is no need to jump into politics.
Why in politics instead of art?
Tej Pratap questioned the reason for Pawan Singh’s steps into politics. He said, “Pawan Singh is an artist, he should sing and act. Politics asks him a grassroots of such issues, which is probably not a matter of him.”
Working on the ground
Tej Pratap also highlighted the works of his party. He said that he is not a leader flying on the helicopter, but works on the ground and works among the public. He gave the example of the initiative of the Black Board, the election symbol of his party, which shows changes in education and an impact in people’s lives. Tej Pratap insisted, “It is the real politics to raise the problems of the people directly on the ground and solve them, not to make a statement from the platform floating in the air.”

Pawan Singh challenged the NDA as an independent candidate from Karakat Lok Sabha seat in 2024 and finished second. Now after joining BJP, his entry has created a stir in the entire Bhojpuri belt. Pawan Singh’s star power can draw youth and rural voters towards BJP. But Tej Pratap says that popularity does not give full guarantee of politics.
It is necessary to connect with public
Tej Pratap made it clear that only name and popularity in politics is not enough. The real test is to work on the land, connect with public and implement development schemes. He said, “Pawan Singh has to understand that the battlefield of politics is different and the star power flying in the air does not work there.”
