Paush Putrada Ekadashi 2025 Date: Ekadashi fast has special significance in Hindu religion, but the place of Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Paush month is considered very special. It is known as ‘Pausha Putrada Ekadashi’ and in South India as ‘Vaikuntha Ekadashi’. This holy fast is being observed today i.e. on 30th December 2025. According to the legend, King Suketuman and Queen Shaivya of Bhadravati city were childless. He performed many yagyas and penances, but did not get the happiness of a child. One day sage Lomash advised him to observe a fast on Pausha Putrada Ekadashi. The king and queen observed the fast with full rituals, as a result of which they were blessed with a stunning son. Since then this Ekadashi is considered a fast for having a child.
