Paul Cotter netted the decisive goal, while Connor Brown’s late equalizer forced the game into overtime.
The Devils, bolstered by goals from Timo Meier and Arseny Gritsyuk, have now secured three consecutive wins and improved their record to 25-8-1 when scoring at least three goals in a game. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom made 24 saves during the contest.

In the third period, the game was tied at 2 when Knies scored off a rebound from John Tavares’ shot, giving Toronto a brief lead with 6:10 remaining. However, Brown responded by scoring on a quick shot from close range, leveling the game at 3 with just 2:21 left on the clock.

Throughout the game, the Devils outshot the Maple Leafs 47 to 27, demonstrating their offensive dominance. Notably, the Devils played without defenseman Brett Pesce, who is sidelined due to a lower-body injury sustained against Florida.
