Patna Hospital Murder: Top Cop Reveals Motive; Tejashwi Asks PM Modi To Meet Victims, ‘Will He Come Just For Votes’

In the bone-chilling murder that took place with a patient inside Paras Hospital in Bihar’s Patna, DGP Vijay Kumar called it sad and a matter of worry.

DGP Vinay Kumar also said that he will review the hospital’s security and find out who is responsible. The deceased (a prisoner on parole shot dead by criminals inside the hospital) was a criminal with several cases of murder against him, he further added.

Giving more details about the prisoner, Kumar said that he was sentenced to capital punishment, which was later converted to life imprisonment. The senior police official also said that the CCTV footage is being analysed to ensure the arrest of the criminals.

” This is a sad incident. It is a matter of worry that criminals entered the Paras Hospital and committed the crime. We will review the hospital’s security and find out who is responsible. The deceased (prisoner on parole shot dead by criminals inside the hospital) was a criminal with several cases of murder against him. He was sentenced to capital punishment, which was later converted to life imprisonment. He was out on parole for medical reasons. We have learned that a land-related dispute was behind the incident. We are taking swift action to ensure the arrest of the criminals. We are analysing the CCTV footage from the site of the incident…,” said DGP Vinay Kumar as quoted by news agency ANI.

Tejashwi Calls Bihar Govt ‘Useless’

Reacting to the incident, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav called those in power useless and said that they are unable to handle Bihar.

“If Modi ji is coming, he should go & meet the victims (bereaved families) of all the murders that have taken place. He should look for the perpetrators and punish them. Will he come just for votes?,” he further added.

On Wednesday, five armed men entered a Bihar hospital and casually walked into a patient’s room, pumped pellets into him, and escaped. According to CCTV footage, five shooters could be seen pulling out their guns, opening the cabin’s door, and then escaping. Chandan Mishra, the target, died during the treatment.

The audacity of the shooting-carried out within the premises of a medical facility in the heart of the state capital-has raised serious questions about security and policing in Bihar. The incident is the latest in a troubling series of violent crimes that have rocked the state in recent weeks.
