The story is set in Prayagraj and revolves around Prajapati Pandey, played by Ayushmann Khurrana. He works as a forest officer. Prajapati lives a peaceful life with his wife Aparna, played by Wamiqa Gabbi, who works as an investigative journalist.
Things take an unexpected turn when Prajapati’s former classmate Chanchal Kumari, played by Sara Ali Khan, comes to him seeking help. Chanchal is trying to escape from Gajraj Tiwari, a powerful politician portrayed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. Prajapati decides to secretly hide Chanchal and help her leave for Canada.
However, hiding another woman from his wife creates several misunderstandings. His friendship with colleague Nilofer, played by Rakul Preet Singh, adds more confusion to the situation.
