Pati Patni Aur Woh Do: Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is reportedly teaming up with director Mudassar Aziz for an upcoming comedy titled Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. Earlier reports suggested that Sara Ali Khan and Wamiqa Gabbi had already signed on for the project. Now, Rakul Preet Singh has also joined the ensemble cast, making this a full-fledged comic caper with three female leads. The script is reportedly locked, and the team is currently finalising the remaining cast for supporting roles. Described as a situational comedy, the film will reportedly rely heavily on timing, confusion, and sharp dialogue to bring out the laughs.
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do movie, according to a report in Pinkvilla, is not a direct sequel or remake of Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019), which itself was a modern retelling of the 1978 classic. Instead, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do takes the franchise forward with a completely original storyline and a new set of characters. “Unlike the previous film, which had two female leads, this one will feature three, and that brings a whole new twist to the humour and dynamics,” the report added. The film is being backed by Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra and is expected to begin shooting in September 2025. The makers have planned a start-to-finish schedule and are aiming for a theatrical release in the second half of 2026.
Ayushmann Khurrana’s Work Front
After wrapping up Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, Ayushmann will dive straight into Sooraj Barjatya’s upcoming romantic film, which is scheduled to begin filming in December 2025. He also has another major release lined up. Titled Thama, Ayushmann’s next project will see him paired with Rashmika Mandanna. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, known for Munjya, the film is set for a Diwali 2025 release. The cast also includes Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and reports suggest a special appearance by Varun Dhawan as Bhediya, linking it to a supernatural cinematic universe.
