Passengers please note … Rules like flight in train too, this mistake will be fined heavy!

Bag limit like flight in train too!

If you travel in the train and always take out a heavy bag, then be a little cautious. Railways are now preparing to monitor the belongings of the passengers. The way the weight of the bag is weighed at the airport, the same rules are now going to be applicable in trains. That is, a fine will have to be paid for carrying more goods than the fixed limit.

According to a report of money control, Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of Information and Publicity in the Ministry of Railways, has made it clear that from now on, passengers will have to weigh the goods at the railway station. For this, electronic waiting machines will be installed and if the bag comes out of the fixed weight, then direct penalty will be installed. In the first phase, this system is being started at big stations like Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Kanpur and Aligarh.

How much items can you take in which class?

Actually, railway rules were already present but now they will be strictly implemented. There is a limit to carry goods according to every passenger’s class. First AC will get the highest exemption of the highest weight in the first AC and the lowest weight in general class.

Those traveling in First AC will be allowed to carry 70 kg of goods, along with additional discount of 15 kg. If needed, up to 65 kg of goods can be booked in the parcel van. A limit of 50 kg has been fixed in second AC, in which 10 kg discount will also be available. 30 kg can be transported from the parcel van. Third AC and AC chair cars are allowed to carry up to 40 kg of goods. There is also a discount of 10 kg. 30 kg more can be booked in the parcel van.

In the sleeper class, up to 40 kg of goods will be free, 10 kg extra discount will also be available. Up to 70 kg can be booked in the parcel van. General/second class passengers can carry up to 35 kg of goods, as well as 10 kg. Apart from this, up to 60 kg of goods can be sent to the parcel van.

Bag size will also be fixed

Not only weight, the size of your bag should also be in the fixed limit. Usually the trunk, suitcase or box size should not exceed 100 cm x 60 cm x 25 cm. This limit for AC third class and chair car is even less 55 cm x 45 cm x 22.5 cm. If your bag is bigger than this, then it will have to be sent by brake van and for this at least 30 rupees will be charged.

Children aged 5 to 12 will also get luggage exemption but half. Meaning big can not lift as much weight. Also, no one will be allowed above 50 kg. If a passenger climbs with a large bag and blocks the way or causes trouble, then he will be fined.

How much will be charged on extra goods?

If you have taken more goods than the fixed limit, then it will have to pay the price. As soon as the free allowance is over, the fare of the normal booking rate will be charged on extra goods. At least 30 rupees will have to be paid and the count will start from 10 kg and 50 kilometers. Railway officials say that these rules are necessary for the convenience and safety of the passengers, especially during festivals or holidays, when trains are packed with passengers.

Separate booking required for heavy goods

If you are taking scooters, bicycles or any heavy goods in the train, then it cannot be taken for free. For this, separate booking has to be done in advance. It is better that if the goods are more, then go to the parcel office of the railway and make booking. There may be a problem at the last moment and may face trouble in travel.
