Actress Parvathy and filmmaker have shared a close friendship for years, including after the controversy surrounding the 2016 Malayalam film Kasaba.
Parvathy had faced intense backlash after calling out a scene in the -starrer that she considered misogynistic. At the time, Geetu was sitting beside her and encouraged Parvathy to name the film she was referring to.
However, ahead of the release of Geetu’s directorial , starring Yash, social media users noticed that Parvathy had unfollowed the filmmaker on Instagram. This led to speculation about a possible fallout between the two. Now, following Toxic‘s release and its largely negative reception, Parvathy has addressed the speculation.

What Did Parvathy Say About Unfollowing Geetu Mohandas?
In an interview with Galatta Plus, when asked about unfollowing Geetu, Parvathy dismissed the rumours, saying, “Nothing happened there. There’s nothing to make a news out of it. I think there is a concerted effort to pit women against women. That’s something that I am not going to bite anymore.”
She further explained, “Especially because of the WCC, it is very easy to pit us against each other and they would love nothing but for me to give about follow, unfollow scenario. We have far better understanding of each other within WCC, and knowing how we have been thrown under the bus several times. For me to even make one statement right now… because that movie has to exist on its own right without anyone making a statement on it. I believe that if Geetu wants to make a movie she wants to make it that has to come out the way without any interpersonal dislike. I completely refuse to bite into it,” she said.
Parvathy, a National Award-winning actor, is known for performances in films including Take Off, Uyare, Qarib Qarib Singlle, Charlie, Maryan and Bangalore Days. She was last seen in the 2024 Malayalam film Ullozhukku as well as the Tamil films Thangalaan and Her. Her upcoming projects include the Malayalam films Pradhama Dhrishtya Kuttakkar and I, Nobody.
