Paris Saint-Germain Dominates Le Havre With A 3-0 Victory To Reclaim Ligue 1 Summit

Paris Saint-Germain reclaimed the top position in Ligue 1 with a decisive 3-0 win against Le Havre at Parc des Princes. Goals from Lee Kang-In, Joao Neves, and Bradley Barcola secured the victory.

PSG had briefly lost their lead to Marseille after Marseille’s 5-1 win over Nice. The match was an intense contest, showcasing PSG’s determination to regain their standing.

PSG faced a tense moment in the 25th minute when Issa Soumare’s deflected pass nearly resulted in a goal. However, Lucas Chevalier managed to save it. Four minutes later, Lee Kang-In capitalised on Nuno Mendes’ cross, scoring at Mory Diaw’s near post. Despite Le Havre creating opportunities, PSG maintained pressure with Goncalo Ramos testing Diaw twice.

After halftime, PSG dominated and extended their lead when Neves scored off the post in the 65th minute following Barcola’s attempts inside the box. Barcola sealed the win three minutes before full-time by finding the bottom-left corner after receiving Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s pass. This victory marked a strong comeback for PSG after their recent home defeat by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

PSG’s defensive performance was notable as they have now achieved five clean sheets in six Ligue 1 home games this season. This surpasses their record from 17 matches at Parc des Princes last season. Their solid defence complemented their attacking prowess, making them formidable opponents.

The Parisiens registered an expected goals (xG) total of 3.49 from 31 attempts during the match. Despite Mory Diaw making eight saves for Le Havre, he couldn’t prevent PSG’s goals. Joao Neves’ goal highlighted his excellent form; only Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise and Nice’s Sofiane Diop have scored more among midfielders in Europe’s top leagues this season.

PSG’s return to form was crucial after losing their first home game of the season across all competitions to Bayern Munich. Their performance against Le Havre demonstrated resilience and intent to dominate Ligue 1 once again.

This victory not only restored PSG’s position at the top but also showcased their depth and skill across both attack and defence. With such performances, they remain strong contenders for retaining their Ligue 1 title this season.
