Actress is set to return to the big screen after her maternity break with Malamaal Weekly 2, which was first released in 2006. The actress has reportedly joined the cast of the much-awaited sequel, alongside actress Raveena Tandon, adding more star power to the project. The original cast featured Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Riteish Deshmukh, Arbaaz Khan, Rajpal Yadav and Asrani.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the makers of Malamaal Weekly 2 were keen to bring on board actors who could match the film’s comic tone and deliver strong performances. Both Parineeti and Raveena reportedly loved the script and their respective characters before signing the film.

The film is expected to follow a fresh storyline rather than serve as a direct continuation of the first instalment. Like the original, the sequel will reportedly revolve around a group of villagers and their attempts to acquire a large sum of money, leading to chaos, comedy, and unexpected situations.
The upcoming film will reportedly be directed by Amit Joshi, known for helming The makers are currently in the process of finalising additional actors for key roles.
